Differences Between Electric Wire Rope Hoist and Electric Chain Hoist
Electric wire rope hoist and electric chain hoist are the featured hoist equipment of the group. There are many differences between them, the details are as follows:
Wire rope hoist uses wire rope to lift material; while chain hoist adopts a chain to connect the hoist hook to pull loads upward.
The winding device of an electric chain hoist is a chain, and the rotation of the hoist chain influences the rise and fall of the hoist. Compared to wire rope hoists, chain hoists are flexible and short in size. Wire rope hoist has wire rope tied tightly on the hoist drum, the rise and fall relying on the hoist drum. To lift higher, the rope of the electric hoist has to twine at least three circles. Because of the design of wire rope hoists, even hoists of the same specification, chain hoists are shorter and smaller than electric wire rope hoists.
They have different hoisting heights. Wire rope hoists lift heavy loads and rely on the elastic deformation of rope tied on the hoist drum. The shorter the diameter of the hoist drum is, the greater the variable wire rope. One side of the hoist drum bears stress, while the other side bears tension. To balance the two forces, the diameter of the hoist drum should be increased. The electric chain hoist pulls loads by a connected chain circle, which is made into a cote shape to reduce the pressure of each sprocket wheel. All in all, electric hoists of the same capacity, and wire rope hoists have longer diameters than chain hoists.
